Commercial Window Cleaning
If we can’t get to your windows from the ground, we will get to them from the roof. To access the windows of your building, we may be able to use transportable suspended equipment, known as a boatswain chair or CDA (controlled descent apparatus) system. This system consists of two lines: a lifeline that is connected to the boatswain chair using a descent device, and a safety line that is connected to the individual’s full body harness with a rope-grab and lanyard. This allows for Apex to perform projects that may be difficult to institute a staging system and offer a more affordable option because of timed saved. All equipment used by Apex and its employees is OSHA/ANSI approved and is inspected on a regular basis to ensure the utmost safety.
Pressure Cleaning
Whether it is vertical or horizontal pressure washing you have in mind, Apex will do its best to give you the cleanest look possible. Because of our ability to access buildings off of ropes, certain areas that would normally require staging, scaffolding, or an aerial lift can be completed in less time and with less money. Our employees are trained in the use of the equipment so as to not cause damage to the building. Chemicals to be used, if any, will be environmentally safe, effective, and will not damage the landscaping of the site.
In many instances, water run-off from a building or sidewalk can flow directly or indirectly into one or more storm water drains. Most cities have Storm Water Ordinances enforcing a zero tolerance policy with respect to this. It can risk not only our company but also our client receiving a steep fine for improper procedures. At Apex, we are fully prepared to meet such challenges with the proper equipment to block drains and capture water or redirect water into an acceptable area. As always, all such areas and equipment are completely barricaded for safety.
Solar Panel Cleaning
Window Cleaning is often being asked to clean Solar Panels. Our expertise includes everything from huge expanses of Solar Panels on the roofs of large commercial buildings with flat or pitched roofs to panels on a steep grade on the ground. Solar Panels will lose 50%, yes, 50% efficacy when dirty. Our recommended cleaning frequency for Solar Panels is quarterly to properly maximize the efficiency of your Solar Panels. Due to the fragility of most panels, we utilize de-ionized water-fed pole systems with special soft bristle brushes in order to prevent any damage. We also avoid using any detergents or abrasive powders as they may streak or scratch the glass of the panels and cause shadows. If the sun is beating down on the panels, water can quickly evaporate and likely just smear dirt around, so it helps to clean your solar panels on an overcast day, early in the morning or in the evening. Give Apex Window Cleaning a call to discuss and schedule your Solar Panel Cleaning!
Tuck-Pointing
Tuck-pointing is a common maintenance procedure that is ideal for brick structures where the mortar is noticeably wearing away. While bricks usually last about a century, mortar joints are more susceptible to weather conditions, especially in more humid climates. “Tuck-pointing”, sometimes referred to as “brick pointing or repointing”, is the removal and replacement of damaged or aging mortar and can help ensure the long-term integrity of a brick structure. Tuck-pointing has an added benefit of being one of the most effective and permanent ways of decreasing water entry into brickwork. This is because the most primary means of water entry into a brick structure is through cracked or deteriorated mortar joints. Large holes and washed out mortar are typical signs that tuck-pointing is needed. This is a service that Apex can provide whether it is on a ladder, from a lift, or even on a boatswain chair in a safe and timely manner.
Window Caulking & Weather Proofing
Cracks and crevices in your building’s exterior let water in and can lead to serious moisture and mildew problems. We can inspect the outside of your building and make sure there are no gaps, cracks, or openings around windows and doors or in the walls and expansion joints. If it is an issue with weathered and aging caulking, we can easily remove the existing product and prep the surface for better adhesion. With our meticulous attention to detail and ability to access hard to reach areas, we can solve water intrusion issues on time and on budget.
